Will spend the day being incredibly self-absorbed, picking out tomorrow's outfit, preparing PB&J sandwiches for the race, and realizing every second that tomorrow will be here any second. I hope the shin and knee pains do not show their ugly heads in the middle of the big day. After googling "shin splint versus stress fracture", I think I've wasted enough time worrying about something that I ultimately know how to manage... REST. To end on a happy note, I am so grateful to everyone who helped me reach my $5000 fundraising goal! View/Hide Comments (0) | Add CommentSun Apr 01 17:34:07 EDT 2012 New pains, new gains Time passes by so quickly. Only 14 days away until the big day. This morning I experienced a sharp pain in front of my lower front shin that I've never had before. Happened around mile 7... unfortunately the pain forced me to walk the rest of the way home. Praying that ice, elevation, rest, and NSAIDS will get the legs ready for 26.2 miles. But the good thing was that 7 miles felt EASY! Unbelievable when a few months ago just running to the T stop a half mile away made me huff and puff. View/Hide Comments (0) | Add Comment |
